For me, guided mediations don’t work because I end up drifting off. When you put a stone in my hand, I can stay focused on it and only it for a good 40-60 minutes. As I turn the stone over in my hand, I observe all its unique contours from how it might feel against my thumb to how the facets might look when held up against the light.
When I first started my meditation practice, I’d take stones to help me focus on my goals. For example, if I meditated with hematite, an earthy grounding stone, that would signal for me to remain grounded and unshakeable during challenging times like family holidays or stressful work situations. Or if you’re working with rose quartz, which is known as a love stone, it could signal you need to remain open and receptive in order to attract new love into your life.
2. Incorporate into your home decor
You can get creative with this idea by using an oversized or statement piece of furniture like a coffee table or mantle as the main focal point of your display.
3. Give them as gifts
If you’ve found a stone that resonates with you and reminds you of someone else, why not give it as a thoughtful keepsake? Since the rocks come from nature, they’re all one-of-a-kind treasures that show you really appreciate someone’s unique level of support or friendship.
4. Use them in creative projects
If you have enough rocks or even just one large heart-shaped rock, you can spark some creativity with a fun project like rock painting. This is an activity that is perfect for both kids and adults who are looking for a creative outlet.
I discovered rock painting last year with my Godson and was delighted at how calming it was to paint through our favorite hobby, Pokemon! We left our rocks for others to find like these mayors in a city in New Zealand leaving warrior stones.

Thankfully, we are not alone in this quest to find heart-shaped rocks. Some others delight in passing the treasures along. If you wish to share the love and pass on your good fortune, you can always rehide the rock for someone else to find.

Of course, there are some rock enthusiasts who are so thrilled with their discoveries that they can’t bear to part with them. You may find a person who has two, five or even 50 rocks to share! Some will give them away for free, while others will charge money.
There is also another option: you might find people who simply leave their collection out in public for others to enjoy. You won’t be able to keep these ones, but you can enjoy them for a while before putting them back in the same spot for someone else to find.
